Downton Abbey: A New Era – an historical drama film and the sequel to the 2019 film Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey: A New Era is an upcoming historical drama film and the sequel to the 2019 film Downton Abbey. Both films were written by Julian Fellowes, the creator and writer of the television series of the same name, with the sequel film being directed by Simon Curtis, replacing Michael Engler who directed the first film.

Downton Abbey: A New Era was initially set to be released in cinemas on 22 December 2021, before subsequently having its release date moved to 18 March 2022. On 10 November 2021, a teaser for the new film was released. The trailer for the film was screened only in US theatres prior to the film Belfast, on the weekend of 12 November, and the trailer was released online and on television on 15 November 2021.
