Elba revealed on Twitter Monday that he had tested positive for coronavirus.
“This morning I tested positive for COVID-19. I feel OK, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus,” the actor captioned a video announcement. “Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing 👊🏾👊🏾 No panic.”
“I’m feeling OK; I’m a little tired because I didn’t sleep much last night. My temperature is fine. I don’t have a fever,” Elba said before sharing that he has asthma, which puts him in a higher risk category.
“I have a respiratory issue, and I’ve had asthma all my life, so catching corona was definitely not on my bucket list at all,” Elba said. “But even my asthma is OK. I don’t feel any restriction with my breathing or my lungs. I haven’t been coughing too much, I generally feel OK. Yes, of course I’m worried. I’m worried about having the virus, I’m worried about having asthma and how that could make things really complicated for me very quickly,” Elba said. “I’m really worried about what’s going on in the world, if I’m honest. I’m worried about how we’re dealing with it.”
