The International Filmmaker Festival of New York (IFFNY) is set to return for its 14th edition, reaffirming its status as a premier global industry event. Held annually in New York City, the world’s most iconic center of arts, IFFNY brings together filmmakers, actors, and cinema enthusiasts from around the globe to celebrate and promote international cinema.

A Platform for Global Voices

IFFNY’s mission is to promote and support the development of international cinema and filmmakers. The festival aims to serve as a central meeting point where international cinema converges in a spirit of cooperation and cultural exchange. Each year, IFFNY presents world premieres of films from around the world, offering American audiences unique opportunities to discover diverse cinematic works.

Highlights of the 14th Edition

  1. Diverse Film Line-Up: The 14th edition of IFFNY will showcase an impressive selection of feature films, short films, documentaries, animations, and music videos. These screenings will be followed by Q&A sessions, providing audiences with the chance to engage directly with filmmakers and gain insights into their creative processes.
  2. Red Carpet Screenings and Special Events: The festival is renowned for its Red Carpet screenings, which add a touch of glamour and excitement. In addition to these screenings, IFFNY will host workshops, receptions with artists and organizers, VIP afterparties, and the prestigious Award Night Gala.

Rules and Terms

To participate in IFFNY, filmmakers must adhere to the following rules and regulations:

  • Eligibility: Filmmakers from around the world who have produced feature films, short films, or documentaries within the last seven years are eligible to apply.
  • Competition and Promotional Programs: The festival includes both competition and promotional programs.
  • Language Requirements: All non-English projects must have English subtitles.
  • Duration Requirements: Feature films must be more than 40 minutes, short films must not exceed 40 minutes, animations must not exceed 15 minutes, and music videos must not exceed 10 minutes.
  • Submission Requirements: Projects without English subtitles or with technical problems are not acceptable.
  • Festival Promotion: The festival may use submitted materials for promotional purposes and to compile the festival catalog.
  • Awards Ceremony: If a film receives an award, a representative must be present to accept the award. If no one is available, only a digital certificate will be sent.
  • Expenses: The festival will cover cinema costs for film presentations, but all other personal expenses during the festival should be covered by the participant.
