Exclusive Interview with Emilio Santín – Filmmaker
NY Glam: What projects are you currently working on?
I keep writing and trying to make finished scripts, like “Doctor Detective,” come to life.
NY Glam: What makes a film great for you? Are there certain qualities that make a film better for you?
The most important thing is that the movie is fun, that it be entertaining and if you add a message to it, you have won the first prize!
NY Glam: As a screenwriter, what is the most important aspect of building a character?
Something extraordinary enough must happen to the character to create interest, but without losing the perspective of the audience feeling identified with him.
NY Glam: How important is for you being a finalist at International Screenwriting Competition –ISC?
It’s always nice that they value your work, that is already there, but what would be really wonderful is to allow your script to become images.
NY Glam: Top 3 favorite projects that you have been involved in?
The short films “Able,” “Ignored,” and “The Loan.”
NY Glam: Do you express yourself creatively in any other ways?
From the perspective in which the question is asked, the answer is “no.” However, I consider that creativity can be expressed in any activity that we carry out every day: a grandmother can be an extraordinary artist because of the way she cooks her cookies.
NY Glam: What advice would you give to someone who wants to have a career in filmmaking?
Believe in yourself and not lose heart in the face of difficulties.
NY Glam: What can we expect from you in this actual year?
I’d rather not set goals, just keep working every day without betraying myself.
NY Glam: Where can everyone keep up with you to learn more? …social media…website
I’m afraid I’m allergic to social networks. I think the only way would be to have some success.
