Exclusive Interview with Besir Zeciri – Actor

NY Glam: Tell us a little about yourself, growing up and your passions.?

I grew up in the suburbs of Copenhagen in a place with people of many backgrounds and lots of different economic states. That inspired me to understand people. Why were people drinking a lot? Or why was it so hard for somebody too go to school? I found out early on that my life was meant too search and understand human beings.

NY Glam: What are you currently working on?

Right now I’m waiting too continue my work on a theater play because of the Corona crisis. I have some other projects in line that are not official yet.

NY Glam: What made you take this role?

I have worked with Svend in a lot of projects where he didn’t direct but was part of the projects but we both dreamt of working together and he contacted me. And send me the script. I loved it.

NY Glam: Tell us a little bit more about this film, what is it about, who else are you working with, and who is the director, producer, writer?

The film is about a young man working on his last day as a pusher. He just had a son and has chosen to quit his job because of his son. He is out to collect his last money and gets into some bump on his way to harmony with family.

NY Glam: What is the most challenging role you have played and why?

I believe every role is challenging for me because I try to do my best and it has to cost something to do the role otherwise I’m not doing it.

NY Glam: And the most fun one? Every role is mad fun for me. I love what im doing.

NY Glam: Describe your biggest accomplishment to date?

I would say being a part of my debut film Wildland and seeing peoples reactions at the Berlinale. Too work with Sidse Babett Knudsen was a dream come true. My preparations and the work we did on the film was one of the best experiences I had in the business. Also work with Svend on our short film was amazing. It got me back to why I started. Everybody worked for free and me and Svend already had a good chemistry because of our previous work together. I was tired one of the days because it was late but when I see how our Costume designer Sarah did everything too keep me warm in the cold winter it really gave me power. If you have a hard time as an actor take a look around. Everybody working and on this set, for free so I really appreciated this.

NY Glam: What other hobbies do you have? Have you ever considered branching out into directing or screenwriting?

Right now I’m very focused on acting. I don’t like doing other things if not I can do it 200%. I like to start projects with people I like too work with and let them write for me.

NY Glam: Where have you played a lead role? What was the character about?

NY Glam: If you weren’t acting what would you be doing?

Killing people. Ha ha. I really don’t know to be honest. Cant imagine doing anything else but I would survive because I’m a surviver.

NY Glam: What’s your goal for this year? I would to work in the States hopefully as the bad guy because you love to use us Europeans as the bad guys and I’m also Albanian so its destined. Haha.

NY Glam: What is your advice for aspiring actors?

Don’t let anyone tell you what you worth is. Work hard and let your work do the talking. Not people. It’s a tough business so you gotta work harder then anyone else because people are standing in lines to take your job. And listen. Always listen especially when you work. Take it step by step and be humble, just don’t let anyone talk down to you. Require respect and be humble. The runner could be a director one day and work with you.
