NY Glam: What projects are you currently working on?

We‘re working on a Romcom and a Sitcom. Bur both are top secret! Although we can say that Alpacas play a big role in the Romcom. The Sitcom is another work-place story just like our Comedy Pilot “Midlife Drive-Thru”. And sometimes the Romcom is a little bit of a RomDram and the Sitcom a little bit of a SitDram.

NY Glam: What makes a film great for you? Are there certain qualities that make a film better for you?

A film is great when it empowers the audience, when it lifts people and entertains them. People should leave the cinema (or the sofa) with a smile on their face and with new inspiration and hope in their hearts. We’re totally not interested in violence, sadism or formulaic storytelling.

NY Glam: As a screenwriter, what is the most important aspect of building a character?

A character must be intriguing and credible. He or she must have flaws and weaknesses that are understandable and relatable. It’s about emotional authenticity; if the audience doesn’t believe in the behavior of the character, then the whole thing falls apart, just because the writer hasn’t dug deep enough.

NY Glam: Top 3 favorite projects that you have been involved in?

Co-creating the TV-Pilot Midlife Drive-Thru – it’s a menopausal Sex & The City

Iris’s novel “Gosia’s Children” – it tells of how WW2 tore apart a German-Polish family

Leia’s script “The Last Dragon” – which tells of how Leia swapped roles with her beloved Gran, who had developed Alzheimer’s

NY Glam: Do you express yourself creatively in any other ways?

Iris paints with oil and acrylic colors, knits little animals and writes poems.

Leia paints, sculpts, also writes poems and tries to maintain her houseboat.

NY Glam: What advice would you give to someone who wants to have a career in filmmaking?

Trust your instincts, but also have a plan! Create something fresh and wonderful that you really want to see. Then create more. Believe in yourself and persevere. Surround yourself with contemporaries and learn from, and support each other! And don’t stop!

NY Glam: What can we expect from you in 2020?

More nonsense and laughter. More noise complaints from Airbnb Hosts. Another Sitcom that makes people fall out of their chairs laughing. A return to LA for more meetings. More competition wins. More hedonistic chattering and giggling.
