International Filmmaker Festival of New York, 11th Edition, awarded Arben Thaci for his movie “The Vanished”

“Far from his hometown Beqir, rather than with his wife he spends most of his time in front of the typewriter machine. Languishing for his homeland and his people, he is no longer at peace with himself, so by writing his memoirs he tries to unveil something important, something he hides from his wife and even himself. What emerges from his writings is full of shock, guilt and remorse, however, is his confession sincere or is he hiding something among the crumpled papers. Does his wife get to see her husband’s true face or does she become part of his story?!”

Arben Thaci, Born on June 28, 1979 in Tetovo, North Macedonia, he withdraw from the medical studies to continue the film school at the Academy of Arts in Prishtina, Kosovo. During his studies he made six short films: “The Forger”, “Amnesia”, “The Photographer”, “Last View”, “Whisper”, “Behind the Darkness”.
After completing his studies at the Academy of Arts, for a while he worked at the Theater of Tetovo and during that period he realised three documentary films: “Dying Life”,” Sunshine Over Sharr Mountain” and “Old Man’s Last Stand”. “The Vanished” is his first feature film. Besides been a director he is also a writter and producer of all his film projects.
