Alida Pantone:<\/strong>\nFirst of all, I\u2019d like to thank you for this interview. I feel honoured to be\nfeatured in your Christmas special edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m currently playing\n\u201cCharlene\u201d in the mini-series for the web \u201cRiddles of Dzoom\u201d. What I love of\nthis role is that it is extremely complex. It challenges me and gives me the\nopportunity to explore a diverse range of emotions during the story. Plus, it\nis one of the main characters!<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is the\nstoryline about? <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone<\/strong>:<\/strong> The story it\u2019s all\nabout a riddle\u2026and a secret no one wants to tell. During lockdown 6 girls\nreceive an email inviting them to an online reunion of their high school group \u201cThe Brunettes\u201d. The meeting quickly turns nightmare when they are presented with a game and a riddle. It\u2019s\ntime for the truth to be out, and if they don\u2019t\nplay\u2026.they die.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Who else is\ninvolved in this production, director, producer, actors? <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong> \u201cRiddles of Dzoom\u201d is written and directed by the multitalented Rachele Fregonese. When she pitched me the idea, I enthusiastically jumped on board also as co-producer. The format of the series is created specifically for social media and was shot remotely with the supervision of our Director of Photography AJ Lamb. Each actress would shoot from home using the equipment they had available. Rachele Fregonese<\/a> (Letitia) from Venice, I (Charlene) from Pescara, Annie Knox<\/a> (Fay), Kelly Juvilee<\/a> (Greta) and Inna Bagoli<\/a> (Iris) from London and Giulia Lupetti<\/a> (Zelda) from Los Angeles. Having the chance to finally share the scene (although being in opposite sides of the World) with my longtime friend (and soon to be seen in \u201cTop Gun\u201d!) Giulia Lupetti, it was for me one of the highlights of this project. The original music is by composer Emilio Merone<\/a>and the graphic design for the official poster is by Riccardo Desider\u00f2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What\nare your favorite projects you have been part of?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong>\nI have so many \u201cfavourite\u201d ones that it would be surely easier\nlisting the ones I didn\u2019t like that much, but I won\u2019t. Being given a role to\nplay it is such a blessing. I loved working alongside Ivano Marescotti (if you\ndon\u2019t know him, google this name!) in \u201cThe Lift\u201d by Luisa Pretolani. And of course, this last project: \u201cRiddles of\nDzoom\u201d. I really hope there will be a Season 2!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Describe\nyour best quality as an actor? <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong>\nThis is a though question. It is difficult to be objective\nwith oneself (I\u2019m usually too critical). I have been told I have a great range\nof characters. I guess that\u2019s because I do love losing myself and becoming a\ntotally different person, kind of letting the character possess me instead of\nthe opposite. Other good qualities I\u2019m sure are appreciated by the productions\nare my punctuality, my commitment, generosity\u2026oh, yes, I can also cry on cue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What\ndo you enjoy the most about your job?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong>\nI enjoy the most the opportunity to safely experience\ndifferent lives through my characters. I also love: being paid to play; having\nsomeone to do my make-up and hair; and when the catering has good vegan\noptions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n What\nhave you learned from the directors that you have worked with throughout your\ncareer?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong> Probably the most \u201clife changing\u201d thing I have learned is that, especially on films, they have so many things to worry about that if they don\u2019t give me any feedback is just because they trust I know what I\u2019m doing and I\u2019m doing exactly what they need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What\nhas been your biggest achievement in the field of acting?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida\nPantone<\/strong>:<\/strong> Probably getting a recall\nfor a Ridley Scott film (although at the end I didn\u2019t get the part). I\u2019m also happy to have on\nmy curriculum a play directed by the very famous Italian actor Pippo Franco.\nAnd \u201cThe Lift\u201d with Ivano Marescotti of course. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But\nthe biggest achievement is every time I get recommended to other directors by\nsomeone I worked with. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What\nother types of movies would you be interested in filming?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong>\nI\u2019d love to do more feature films of course. I\u2019d love to be\ncast in inspiring roles, or fun ones\u2026 But I\u2019d also love to play the main\nvillain in an action film like 007. Anything really! The only kind of movie I\nwould have problems with is erotic ones. That\u2019s really not my genre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How\ndo you see your role as an actor? <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong>\nA never-ending challenge. Acting is just the tip of the huge\niceberg that is all the work one actor puts into training, auditioning,\naccepting rejections, judgements, promotion, devotion, networking, temp jobs to\npay the rent\u2026But I still think it\u2019s all worth it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n More\nspecifically to the acting part of the job, I see my role as an actor as a big\nresponsibility, both towards the author (bringing the character and the story\ninto life) and the audience (entertaining it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n What\nwas your most memorable role? Why?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong>\nI remember all of them very well and I\u2019m tied to all of them\nwith the same affection. Perhaps the most memorable still has to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What\nother hobbies do you have? <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong>\nI must clarify that acting is not a hobby to me. It is a full\ntime very challenging profession, as I mentioned before. My main hobby is\nsailing, I\u2019m very passionate about it (I have also created an Instagram profile\ndedicated to it). And I like taking photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Who\nis your role model?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong>\nI don\u2019t have a role model. I admire different qualities in\ndifferent person. I also learned that what you see is not necessarily the\nreality of things so I find it hard to choose a \u201crole model\u201d. Based on what I\nsee, I\u2019d like to be a mix of Audrey Hepburn, Angelina Jolie and Dwayne Johnson,\nif I have to say some names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Any\ntips about how to be a successful actor?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong>\nI don\u2019t think I\u2019m successful enough yet, but I think good\n\u201cweapons\u201d to be a successful actor are perseverance, confidence and a good PR. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What\ndo you want to be remembered for in life? What valuable lessons have you\nlearned that helped you become the person you are today? <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone:<\/strong>\nI haven\u2019t figured out that yet. Hopefully only good things! <\/p>\n\n\n\n Valuable\nlessons I have learned: never take anything for granted; life is unpredictable;\nif I want something I better start working for it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What\u2019s\nnext? <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alida Pantone<\/strong>:<\/strong> Paraphrasing what the Brain would say to Pinky: \u201cSame thing I do every\nday\u2026try to take over the world!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n In February I\u2019ll run the\nXI edition of the London Rolling Film Festival.
