Well-known\nartist, colorist, and editor Blerti Murataj has created his own community space\nfor artists, filmmakers, and musicians who are empowered and inspired by his\ncreative vision. His art encourages the development of our inner sight and\ngives us a deeper appreciation for the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blerti\nMurataj\u2019s current art project is inspired by the game of absence, in this case,\nof the light, in a given urban and social environment. While the working title\nof the project is \u201cthe shape of the shadow\u201d, its concept is a reflection of his\ninnovative imagination that offers beauty in color and black and white.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blerti\nMurataj graduated from Art Academy in Tirana, in the department of Visual Arts\nin 1999. He continued his studies for Master of Fine Arts in Photography, Video\nand Related Media at the well known School of Visual Art (SVA) in NYC but\ndropped out of program in 2001 to pursue his professional dream. He has been\nliving and working in New York City since 2000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blerti\nMurataj\u2019s notable color grading works include: \u201cComedians in Cars Getting\nCoffee\u201d of Jerry Seinfeld, Oprah\u2019s \u201cMaster Class\u201d series for OWN, “Bon\nJovi: When we were beautiful\u201d for ShowTime and Tribeca Film Festival, \u201cLady\nGaga: Inside of the Outside\u201d for MTV, and a list of\ncommercial work for Nike, Verizon, McDonald, Honda, IBM, Sony, Grey Goose Vodka,\njust to name a few. Many of the projects he has worked on have received awards\nsuch as Emmy Award, The Clios, TED’s Ads Worth Spreading, NASA Honor Award etc., have aired in major US networks and have been\npart of official selection in film festivals throughout the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interview with Blerti Murataj: The Inspiration behind the \u201cThe Shape of\nthe Shadow\u201d project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you tell us a little bit about your career? How did you start your\njourney on this career path<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blerti Murataj:<\/strong>\nAnswering this question can take me forever to describe all my wonderful\nexperiences. Many memories flow in my mind for each turn of the story in my\nlife. Moving forward to film and video post-production, and lately color\ngrading and finishing via edit4 Inc., my company, is for sure result of\nunavoidable desire to create and have that personal space, and the right team,\nto exercise it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting with production and then focusing more into editing the clips\ninto a story and then applying finishing touches, developing the color palette\nlike in paining, that is briefly my path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is most rewarding about what you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blerti Murataj:<\/strong>\nIt is working on projects that absorb you, traveling with them into areas of\nknowledge unknown before. For me this is a real treat. Also having the\nopportunity of viewing of what might be the highest quality of that artistic\ncreation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a color grading artist or editor, which one of your previous projects\ndo you consider your best work and why<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blerti Murataj:<\/strong>\nEach project I have worked on has had its own challenges, concerning artistic\nexpression or technical solutions, in terms of implementing pioneering\ntechnologies for the time of their production. Be it documentaries about Maya\nAngelou or Lady Gaga, journeying through American War of Independence or\npresent-day America with comedians that make you think, visually tasting Grey\nGoose Vodka or fluid dancing of Honda robots, listening to \u201cLiving on the\nPrayer\u201d in a surround sound or witnessing artists develop Tiffany unique\nmasterpieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you tell us more about your involvement with the visual art\nprojects?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blerti Murataj:<\/strong> Sure. My education background is in visual arts. So, it is more than just involvement. It is a way I experience life.\u00a0 Although I have to add that my work schedule has taken a toll in my creative process, not allowing me allocating more time on art projects. Therefore, many of the art projects I\u2019ve worked on in the recent years, I feel, are more like archeological remains of a bigger work or vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What inspired the \u201cThe Shape of the Shadow\u201d project concept?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blerti Murataj:<\/strong> I\nwould say it is the city of New York. The way the absence of light plays with\narchitecture, urban environment and people. How invisible info, in a photo\nimage for example, unlit part of it, not well defined, can alter the identity\nof the reality itself. It brings forth moments you can see stories developing\nin front of you. For this project I\u2019ve mainly employed photography techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are your goals for the future?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blerti Murataj: <\/strong>Firstly,\nmy main desire is to make right the time allocation issue, providing more time\nfor my visual art projects.
