Emiliano Sette is Director with Ra\u00fal\nKoler and Executive Producer of Anacronte, a 3D CGI animated short film winner\nof more than 100 festivals and 300 selections worldwide. He also is the screenwriter\nin the animated TV series “Plim Plim the clown, a hero of the heart”.\nBroadcasted on Disney Junior Latin America, Channel 13 Argentina, Discovery\nFamilia (USA), NETFLIX, awarded by the 2013 Mart\u00edn Fierro Cable Award, Children\n\/ Youth category, and Cynopsis Kids! Magination Awards, honorable mention (2015).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Screenwriter and Director of \u201cReflejos\u201d,\nanimated short film Winner of the INFANCIAS (INCAA) award. Director and\nScreenwriter of the animation series “MILI” Winner of the Expotoons\nfestival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano Sette was the artistic director\nat Magic Gardens animation studios based in Buenos Aires. He currently serves\nas the Executive Director of Mr. Bug Studio in Argentina. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What projects are you currently\nworking on? <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano Sette:<\/strong> After a pandemic year with a lot of\ntime at home and the beautiful receptions of Anacronte several projects came\nabout , with Raul Koler, with whom I find great synergy in Anacronte. We also\nstarted to work in \u201cThe cry room\u201d, a new animated short film, meanwhile we wrote\nthe adaptation of Anacronte to TV series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, with my partner\nAlejandro Dajil we are working on actually on \u201cEloize\u201d, a thriller series with\nsome sci-fi aspects. This project has the mentoring of Peter Marshal and we had\nthe possibility to participate in a round table with the two times academy\naward winner Paul Haggies.       <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the new film \u201cThe cry room\u201d about?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano Sette:<\/strong> In the short film \u00a8The cry room\u00a8\nthe society needs a pill to be able to cry while the government distributes the\npills with a particular selection, if the people don\u00b4t find the way to cry soon,\nthe consequences are fatal. Eloize series talks about times where through a new\napp, the dreams become in the most popular social media and the manipulation of\nit is a big, unexpected danger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you hope people will take\naway from the film?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano Sette:<\/strong> To be honest, I am not sure. I write the things that move me, and that depends on my moment, but each one has different emotional resonance. Maybe what\u2019s important is to raise a question and let the audience find some inspiration and how they interpret it. At least, that is my experience when I see artistic expression that touches something in me, immediately I need to transform it into a new project o just a simple conversation with someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top 3 favorite films\/projects you\nhave been involved in?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano Sette:<\/strong> Anacronte (Animation short film),\nEl payaso Plim Plim (TV series), and Eloise (series) are the projects where I\nhave learned more without hesitation. Each one of these projects consists of a\ngorgeous crew. It is a big privilege for me to be part of them.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell us a bit about the other films\nyou have made.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano Sette:<\/strong> Aisthesis was my first live-action\nfilm, shooting in 16mm, and also my first contact with festivals and the\nindustry people. Reflejos animation film and Mili TV series animation project\nwere great projects that we did in Canica Azul studio in Argentina, winner of\nInfancias INCAA and Expotoons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you express yourself creatively\nin any other ways?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano Sette:<\/strong> Yes, I am interested in the movement,\nacrobatics, and the circus world. I act, write, and direct plays in this\nlanguage too. It\u00b4s a place where I can mix the body with an emotional\nexperience. Maybe another way to meditate. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advice would you give to\nsomeone who wants to have a career in filmmaking?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano Sette:<\/strong> In my side of the world, the way to find out that your project is making reality is working a double shift until your personal project has the strength to be the only one. It is very important to find the truth of your project for yourself. \u00a0I am not sure what is good advice, but there is one phrase of Carlos Castaneda that helps me a lot to choose where I put my energy.\u00a0 The phrase says \u00a8And when you finally realize you’ve taken a heartless path, the path is about to kill you\u00a8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you working on your next project\nnow?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano Sette:<\/strong> Yes, in a couple of them. We are\nattending different markets with Eloize\u00b4s series and always need an update.\nIt\u00b4s a narrative long path in constant movement. We are working on it with our\nrepresentative in LA, RM Vistar and the project is growing up a lot in each\nmeeting. We have a beautiful team working on in a big project with a lot of\npersonal aspects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The animation short film \u00a8Cry room\u00a8\nis near to start production, we are finishing to analyze the budget with Ra\u00fal\nKoler. The most important thing after that is that we begin to enjoy it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are your personal goals for next\nyear?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano Sette:<\/strong> In Mr. Bug studio we have find a\nvery comfortable way to work in the last years, we wish to continue in this way\nand giving light to our next projects. We are working in live-action and\nanimation brands and we had a great reception in 2020.
