Exclusive Interview with Tian Weiping – Artist & Scriptwriter <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Tian Weiping, born in 1956, graduated from the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts in 1983. He once worked as a professor and doctoral advisor in school of Fine Arts of Harbin Normal University, a former director of the Chinese artists association and the director of the Chinese Oil Painting Society. He has held exhibitions of personal works at various art galleries throughout the country and has been well received, which is the greatest achievement of his life. Out of passion for film and writing, in recent years he has been a scriptwriter in some documentary projects. His next goal is to travel around the world, record the beauty with brushes and words, and create more scripts based on interesting and meaningful experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NY\nGlam: What projects\nare you currently working on?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m\ncurrently working on a national art foundation project with paintings and video works involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NY\nGlam:<\/strong> <\/strong>What makes a film great for you? Are there certain qualities\nthat make a film better for you?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If a film\nis not written or produced from the perspective of entertainment, and can give\npeople inspiration and reflection, I\u2019ll think it\u2019s\na good film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A good structure, wonderful narrative style and refined language\nmodel\ncontribute to a great film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NY Glam:<\/strong> <\/strong>As a\nscreenwriter, what is the most important aspect of building a character? <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a screenwriter, I think the most\nimportant thing in building a character is to display\nthe mental state, the growing\nbackground and the\npersonality traits of the character so that it will be very vivid and\nmoving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favorite projects are<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NY Glam:<\/strong> <\/strong>Do you\nexpress yourself creatively in any other ways?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You know basically I am an artist, a painter\nmore exactly. What is required most for a painter is creation. I produced many\ngood works with creative expressions. Sometimes the creative ideas I got in\npainting can give me more inspiration which helps to generate more scripts. It\u2019s\ninteractive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NY\nGlam:<\/strong> <\/strong>What advice would you give to someone who wants to have a\ncareer in filmmaking?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, to make a good work, team\nspirit is essential; Second, to\nbe committed to the thing you have\ninterest in; also, learn to have a sense of\nresponsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will\ncontinue to complete our established project in 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
