NY Glam: What projects are you currently working\non? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I am working on new\nprojects continuously. One of the new ones is a larger than life painting that\nconsists of miniature paintings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: What art do you most identify with?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Art that has been created spontaneously guided by\ninstinct, experimentation and feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: What themes do you pursue?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Currently my themes are often subconscious in\nwhich I can only \u201csee\u201d their true meaning after I have created them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: What\u2019s your favorite art work? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n All are important for the evolution of art, therefore I have no favorite work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: Tells us about some of your recent\nexhibitions. What memorable responses have you had to your work?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Directed Art Modern participated in The 19th\nedition of SCOPE New York. Among the works to be shown was my work: \n“Pangea” a 10′ x 16′ Aubusson tapestry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The word Pangea,\nderived from Ancient Greek, simply translates to \u201call earth,\u201d in \u201cPangea\u201d I\nlook through the past centuries and lands on when the world, geographically,\nwas united symbolizing a need for a coming together – a need for unity. The\npublic responded so great to an artwork that brought the message of\nunity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: Tell us about one of your projects which\nyou are very proud of.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201dHouse Tricks\u201d a mural to bring awareness to the\ncoalition for the homeless in los Angeles and \u201cTarget\u201d a painting that\nbecame the basis for a poster for gunn control. <\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: What does \u201cbeing creative\u201d mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Taking chances with the steps in the creative\nprocess in order for the challenges that arise to be taken on, creating\nsomething that still excites and compels you to keep going while creating\nsomething that you never thought would work. Keeping yourself on cue so that\nyou are enticed every time, knowing that you accomplished something new.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: What are you trying to communicate with\nyour art?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I am letting the unconscious guide me in an\nalmost trance-like state. Sometimes it is cultural, sometimes social and\nsometimes there is no meaning at all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: What role does the Artist have in\nSociety?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n An artist role is to jolt the onlookers\u2019 senses\nand to trigger an emotional response, whether it is happy, sad or everything in\nbetween. The emotional response can open up new ways to \u201csee\u201d beyond what the\nonlooker already knows and stimulates innovation in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: What are your thoughts on being an\nartist in today\u2019s world?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In a world that is growing less focused with an\nendless input of social media and imagery, it is challenging to get people to\nstand still and focus on their feelings with one singular image and being able\nto take that \u201cimage\u201d in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: How has painting influenced your life?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n When I work with the tactile nature of paint and all the different mediums of paint it gives me a sensitivity to nature and visa versa. It puts me on a higher ground and I can see things more clearly when I am working in the medium, understanding light, shadows and pigment. To create something from nothing influences you somehow. It is therapeutic, trance-like and keeps me grounded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: What art movement or artist would you\nsay influences your work most?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Bauhaus and Picasso <\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: What can we expect from you this year?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n New projects, new\nexhibitions, new work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NY Glam: Can you share with us three favorite\nthings about your city\/culture? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1) The fact that the\narts and creative elements are all around you in New York. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2) New York is alive 24\nhours a day and changing it\u2019s shape continuously.
