Taizu may have already been on your radar with his 2018 tracks &#8220;The End&#8221;, &#8220;Kiss&#8221; ft. Rush and &#8220;One Time&#8221; featuring Rishi Rex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taizu is set out to make a lot of noise this year with his upcoming album &#8220;ZU&#8221; this summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New York Glamour Exclusive Interview with Taizu <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam:<\/strong> <strong>What is your music background? Do\nyou write your own songs?<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> I started writing\nrhymes\/poetry during my freshman year in college. Though I dropped out, I never\nstopped reading and writing. I write all my own music and have been writing\nscreenplays as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam:<\/strong> <strong>How important is image? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> Perception is reality. Most\npeople live within their five senses. With this limitation, physical reality is\nthe only truth they experience. This is the image you see in a mirror. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam:<\/strong> <strong>What image do you think your music conveys?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope it promotes\ndetachment from the voices that consume us daily. We are constantly told what\ndirection to walk in, what to believe in, what we should think. From birth we\nare shaped. We forget to question. Answers are not always what they seem.\nUnderstanding the source of your information and your frustration is critical.\nIt is okay to question a question. Doubt is an element of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam:<\/strong> <strong>What are you currently working on? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> I just completed my first studio album and have material for the second and third albums in process. Hoping to release all three this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam: Amazing job to the entire team on the\nPractice music video for doing a terrific job. What inspired this project and\nwho did you work with? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> My team really brought the song to life in the video and the original concept was from one of the executive producers of the album Zack Yassin. The idea plays off a line in the closing of verse one, &#8220;My vision clear, could see with no eyes&#8221;. Ambika Sanjana was the stylist and created the looks and blindfolds that are used throughout the video. Wesley Caspillo and Bobby Stevenson were the directors and literally my eyes throughout the shoot. Can you share with us what\u2019s in line for you if you are\nallowed to say? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> I\u2019ve been writing screenplays for all\ndifferent visual mediums. Hoping after the release of the first album to maybe\nbring something to life as a writer and film director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam: How do you view your role as an\nartist? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> Anything you do with passion becomes \u201cThe Art\nof \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam: What is the current state of the\nmusic industry and where do you think its heading? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> When art evolves, it takes on many forms. As\nhip hop grew from ten to one thousand to one million, more voices became vocal.\nThe technology revolution put power in the hands of the people and allowed for\nentirely unheard narratives, the heads of the dragon grew. Each head of the\ndragon has its own story though they come from the same body. It\u2019s exciting to a\nsee push towards the celebration of diversity and individuality throughout all\nthe arts. Everyone has a voice, no one wants to feel unheard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam: What impact do you want to make in\narts and music? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> I hope to open dialogues currently unexplored.\nCuriosity is the seed of creativity. We are born knowing nothing and willing to\nexplore everything. As we grow \u201cwiser\u201d, rigidity takes hold of our mind. Fear,\ninsecurity, and self-doubt paralyze curiosity into a state of complacency. We\ninvite all the world\u2019s opinions into our home. We ask them to stay the night.\nSometimes they never leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam:<\/strong> <strong>How do you define success?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> Happiness is the ultimate goal. Money buys\nquality of life. Luxuries fool the senses. Success cannot be attained. It is a\nperspective. A mindstate. An aura you carry with you. Find your truth and live\nit. I speak on\nmany of my positions throughout my first album \u201cZU\u201d and am excited to discuss\nthem after sharing the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam:<\/strong> <strong>Any plans for upcoming tours\/performances? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> My team and I are planning for a mini-tour\nafter we release the album \u201cZU\u201d early summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY\nGlam: <\/strong><strong>What are your long-term career goals?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> Along\nwith continuing to create music, I\u2019d love to direct some of the screenplays\nI\u2019ve written. I\u2019ve loved filmmaking since I was a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam:<\/strong> <strong>Can you tell us about any\nalbums\/songs you have released? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> Practice makes perfect is an adage that has held its\nweight in water since the days of the Tao Te Ching. Repetition is the father of\nlearning. Luck is the outcome of an action. But you have to buy a lottery\nticket first to win. Entitlement is the opposite of Practice. Nothing is owed\nto you in this world. We all breathe the same air. When Rishi Rex was producing\nthe beat and I started writing out the first verse, a lot of these elements\nbegin to connect. The IDGAF vibe of the song and catchy instrumentation makes\nit easily relatable, but the lyrics provide new substance for the second,\nthird, fourth listen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From a more literal perspective, I wanted to highlight the\nvocal and lyrical ability which I have worked years in sharpening and fine\ntuning. I am a product of Practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NY Glam:<\/strong> <strong>What\u2019s next? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Taizu:<\/strong> I&#8217;m excited for the release my debut studio album \u201cZU\u201d early summer and then second\/third albums fall and winter. I&#8217;m also working on some short films and screenplays I&#8217;m going to develop further.
