How did you come into your acting career?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone:<\/strong> As a kid, my father put me in my first\nfilm as a crying infant in Salvador<\/em> with James Woods.  So\nessentially I was \u2018acting\u2019 before I was really conscious, in movies like Wall\nStreet<\/em>, The Doors<\/em> and JFK<\/em>.  But I was\nincredibly shy, which didn\u2019t work for pursuing acting.  So I focused more\non writing, directing documentaries and even working as an editor after college\non W<\/em>. and The Untold History of the United States<\/em> series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which film, was the turning point in your life and\ncareer?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone: <\/strong>When I went to make my\nfirst feature film Greystone Park<\/em> in 2010, I ended up playing\nmyself in the lead role because it was a documentary-style fiction film. \nThat job led to more offers and opportunities, even though I wasn\u2019t really\ncommitted to pursuing acting at that time.  When I took on acting roles, I\nused my writer\u2019s mind to catalyze my craft.  Only after I realized acting\nwas part of my oeuvre and had to be taken seriously did I finally commit to\nstudying Meisner at the Baron Brown Studio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who has supported you to come into this field?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone: <\/strong>I\u2019d say my father did,\nwithout realizing it, because he put me in films the way a dad would take the\nvideo camera and record his son at a birthday party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the film about?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone:<\/strong>Battle Fields<\/em> is\nthe story of an Iraq war veteran picked up one day by an Iraqi Uber\ndriver.  That might normally breed tension, but it\u2019s exacerbated by the\nfact that my character, Bobby, is drunk and on the verge of suicide because\nhe\u2019s lost all custody of his daughter.  So he basically wants to say\ngoodbye, then end his life\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who else is involved in this production, director, producer,\nactors?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone: <\/strong>Anouar Smaine directed\nand acted as my co-star, along with Nikki McCauley as my ex-wife.  Amina\nZhaman was a producer on it, and I knew her from a fun little short she\ndirected me in called The Movie Man<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes a good scene partner? With which actor did you like\nworking with?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone: <\/strong>I enjoyed working with\nboth my co-stars on this, but what really makes a good scene partner is\ncommitment.  If the other actors are delivering their lines, even when the\ncamera isn\u2019t on them, that helps so much as a performer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are your favorite projects you have been part of?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone: <\/strong>Obviously big movies\nlike JFK<\/em>, Natural Born Killers<\/em>, or shooting behind the\nscenes on Alexander<\/em> were life-changing experiences, but I\u2019d\nsay Greystone Park<\/em> was a fascinating journey.  We were\nbreaking into abandoned mental hospitals, really experiencing frightening\nparanormal activity, just to collect B-roll.  I don\u2019t think there was a\nmember of our crew who didn\u2019t get creeped out by the locations we used while\nshooting that movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you please tell us about your upcoming\nfilm\/festivals\/projects?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone: <\/strong>We just recently put out\na film called Fury of the Fist and the Golden Fleece<\/em> where I\nplay the title character of The Fist, a down and out former porn star who goes\non an epic quest to regain his mojo.  It\u2019s part Austin Powers<\/em>,\nSonny Chiba, Flash Gordon<\/em> and so much more because it\u2019s\nultimately a comedy-homage to the action hero cinema of the \u201970s and\n\u201880s.  People can check it out on demand, Amazon, iTunes, Google Play,\netc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What have you learned from the directors that you have worked\nwith throughout your career? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone: <\/strong>My father had the biggest\nimpact on me, but it\u2019s difficult to quantify or describe what makes a great\ndirector.  Essentially it\u2019s an attention to detail, a trust in your gut\ninstinct, and the courage to express your vision no matter what the odds. \nI guess the same goes for acting, just from a different perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has been your biggest achievement in the field of\nacting? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone: <\/strong>I\u2019d say being nominated\nBest Actor at the Idyllwild Film Festival for my role in Battle Fields<\/em>. \nI don\u2019t consider myself an accomplished actor at this time, so that was a real\nhonor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was your most memorable role? Why? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone: <\/strong>For most people it\u2019d be\nYoung Jim Morrison in The Doors<\/em>.  For me, it\u2019s The Fist in Fury\nof the Fist<\/em> because he\u2019s such a cool character who basically just\ndrops one-liners the entire movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any tips about how to be a successful actor? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone: <\/strong>I don\u2019t consider myself a\nsuccessful actor yet, but I would tell any actor, if you\u2019re not getting the\nparts, write one for yourself.  Make short films or write features, but\nkeep creating, and in the process, find out your essence as a man or woman\nbecause success can really confuse your sense of who you are if you haven\u2019t\nfigured that out beforehand.  Like Jimmy Stewart said, success can really\nturn a fellow\u2019s head if he doesn\u2019t watch his step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you want to be remembered for in life? What valuable\nlessons have you learned that helped you become the person you are\ntoday?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Stone: <\/strong>I\u2019d like to be remembered\nas a revolutionary, someone who worked with principle to wake people up to the\nbigger issues of the planet, especially on a spiritual level.  I see media\nas the easiest means of affecting mass consciousness, and that is why I choose\nto operate through this medium, whether acting, writing, directing, producing,\nor hosting my interview programs like Buzzsaw<\/em> on Gaia TV\nor Watching the Hawks<\/em> on RT. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
